Food
Above is a crab burrito with coriander pesto. It is the only thing I could eat on the plate. I found the black beans a bit bland, the red rice was kinda cold. The plate was over a foot long. The restaurant was call "El Cholo".

Since I arrived in America I have had crab at every opportunity on this occasion. This is a crab and cucumber sandwich with yummy french fries. With a glass of Pinot Griogio . The restaurant was called, BLD.

"Life is Beautiful" Los Angeles
On June 22, 2008, I went to check out the show of Mr. Brainwash a.k.a. MBW a.k.a Thierry Guetta. Mr. Brainwash held a show in CBS's studio at Columbia Square. Mr. Brainwash show took over an old CBS studio. This artist is a master of self-promotion. When he occupied the CBS studio's it was a place filled with old office fittings. He contacted companies to remove the fittings and was confronted with a disposal bill for $80,000. Being an artist of the new age he listed the the fittings on Craigslist for free and had them collected the next day. The show opened June 18 in Hollywood California. The show opened at 7pm. I arrived at 9pm the line stretched around the corner and as I was alone I opted to return on another day. Ok this is what I think about the show. It reminded me of Jeff Koons.
Everyday items done on a large scale. The best thing about the show was the sponsorship. There was free water and the rumour was that Mr. brainwash sold $80,000 worth of art work to pay for the show. Another rumour is that he comes from a rich family. I found the reworking of Warhol's iconic image a bit boring. I was also very indifferent to the stencils. What I love was the portraits made from LP's.

The show was an alley show on steroids. Every inch of the place was covered in art. The artist reworked the concept of pop art, traditional oil painting and large scale sculpture.
The liar has moved.
Ok, people I moved post about the man who loved too much. I do not want to speak or think about him again. I want to move on... So I moved it t the link above....

Hotel Figueroa
Second, I bought tomatoes that would make you cry with there beautiful flavour. Small and
perfect I have been sampling them all day like they were strawberries. Lastly, I bought some very yummy cheese.
On my drive home I found myself outside of the Hotel Figueroa. I was amazed I had forgotten how a 15 year old girl began a three year affair with a man twice her age. This is the location that I discovered my sexuality.
I had to stop the car and snap pictures but it wasn't like this when I had my soiree. This like many buildings are a part of a revamp taking place in the heart of downtown
LA...
I am seriously considering revisiting the spot. But
only if it involves amazing sex.

This was a fantastic gig Seun Kuti is the half brother to Femi and son of Feli. He has recently released a new album with Feli's Egypt 80. It is pretty true to form for Afro-beat. The night was electric. Seun was wearing some very tight yellow pants that made his arse look particulary sweet and a gorgeous green floral shirt. So 70's.
I am including a very rough video of the gig assembled with stills shots and a track taken from Seun's album "African Problems".
Seun Kuti and The Egypt 80.
Debut Album "Many Things"
The power and the glory of that funky, trance-notic, ginormous swirl of West African big-band sound — with its boisterously in-your-face brass, relentless guitar groove-web and renewably energetic percussive foundation — hasn’t dimmed. The gene pool factors into Seun’s blossoming talent too. He’s heir to a fair dollop of his pop’s hip-swaggering, antiauthoritarian attitude — part rebel rabble-rouser, part lithe-wire dancer, part libidinal funkateer. Seun’s new self-titled debut album doesn’t mess much with the Afrobeat formula, but damn if it doesn’t swing, with Fela’s Egypt 80 in full effect and the young un’s talk-sung rants keeping the finger-pointing flame at a white-hot burn. This shit is real — accept no imitation. Tom Cheyney

June 19
A day round the pool at Zen Retreat in the Hollywood Hills.
The view over the Hollywood hills from the pool of my fancy Hollywood hills pad.
My studio from the pool deck.
Well today I awoke at 1pm. My cellphone ( I am in America after all) kept ringing. My relatives. For someone with no family I seem to get a lot of phone calls from people I vaguely remember from childhood. Upon waking up I cancel my last colonic appointment with Rysia. For details you'll have to email me.
Then I wondered upstairs to the pool where I joined Sunny and Oceania Blueskies for some rest
and relaxation LA style.
The afternoon was great French Champagne ( it's so cheap here), Sushi and cheese and olive tapenade. While we were enjoying the sun a pesky LAPD helicopter began to circle. This was particularly annoying when you are trying to look especially elegant drinking your french champagne and yelling at someone sitting 12 inches away.
As it turns out it was just another day in Hollywood with a gun man holding his girlfriend and baby at gun point while S.W.A.T. attempt to use their fancy toys to blow him to pieces.
It was at this point that 3 hot boys arrived from Iceland. Ok they were Bi and badly dressed. Ok only one of them was hot.

But I'm on vacation after all and it is fun to add Icelandic people into the mix. They believe in elves, you know. And according to those three, there is absolutely nothing to do there but eat a hot dog from a place rated 10th in the world..?
The day was moving ahead swimmingly. When an angry German or Austrian or Swiss woman appeared and started telling us that she has booked the pool area for a goddess ritual to bring in the solstice. She then informed us that we were welcome to stay if we respected their religion and were very quiet.
Ummmm.
I guess no one told the "healer" about respecting her neighbors and not polluting the space with her mantras for overweight woman who do not know how to cum.
So I decided to go check out Seun Kuti and Egypt 80.
